Cats, Tapioca, and Worms?

Okay, yeah, I know... This update came pretty early. I'm just so excited though!!! First off, there's this cat. Right? Right. Well, this stupid cat is sitting outside my apartment making awkward meowing sounds. Ya know, like a regular cats meow when it's in heat... So it's that awkward, purr-y, deepish, and very loud meow. It's been going on for like half an hour now. I'm about ready to kill it.

In the mean time... I'm making tapioca pudding!!! Oh my goodness, it is my most favorite thing ever! I made some earlier this week. Now its gone. So I'm making some more :) Last time, it never thickened up so it was more like tapioca soup. Hopefully this time will be better. I didn't take it off the stove till it had been boiling for a minute (last time, I took it off at the first sight of boiling bubbles... just like the box said to). Um Yum Yum! Except it takes a lot of milk. I just bought a gallon on Thursday, and it's almost gone. Usually one gallon lasts me about 2 weeks.

I saw Les Miserables tonight at Bonneville High School. They did such a good job! I love whoever it was that they cast for Marius. As for Javert, well, lets just say that if he proposed to me, I'd say yes ;) hahaha His voice was stunning! Jean Val Jean (I don't think that's the correct spelling, but you get it) didn't look so much the part as the rest of the cast did, see I don't think he was broad enough to play Jean, but his voice was also stunning. Eponine and Cossette were also very very good. I will criticize to the point that Lone Peak and American Fork High Schools did a better overall job, but Bonneville was not bad at all. They sped a lot of the songs up, probably to cut down on time, and the "Lovely Ladies" scene was far dirtier than I expected... Usually they coreograph it very carefully as to get the message across with out being too suggestive (I guess there were some law suits about that in past High School productions of it). This was, well, dirty. The set was amazing though! One of the better ones I've seen :) So there is my critique of that. I give it a 4.5/5!

Finally, since I always save the best for last (not like it matters, I really don't think anyone reads this anymore, if they ever did. I guess I just like to talk to myself... It works as a good journal!) THURSDAY!!! At the institute lunch.

I wore my poncho and a flower in my hair cuz it was taco salad day. Rachel did too, did I mention that? We dress up for Thursday lunches according to the menu cuz we're cool like that. You know, PJ's to school on breakfast for lunch day, and Hawaiian shirts on hawaiian haystack day... It's great fun. We're cheeseballs. So, back from my tangent. I saw a girl that I knew. Her name: Megan Jones. Where I knew her from: I had no idea and neither did she! She lives near Ogden and went to a totally different high school, she worked at a Jamba Juice at who knows were, etc. Half way through institute class, it hit me, she was my roommate for a whole week while I was at Girls State at SUU! Granted it was 3 years ago, but I couldn't believe I'd forgotten! Then I had to hunt her down and tell her. On the hunt, came one of the bravest moments of my life...

Ben was standing there talking to me and Rachel, when he pulls a box out of his pocket and says, "you guys wanna try a worm?!" Yeah. It was a box of real worms, sitting there, waiting to be eaten. He apparently has an advanced "bug" class, as they call it, and the professor brings in worms, and ants, and grasshoppers, etc. for the class to try. The worms had been dried out and coated in a cheddar dust (like a cheeto of sorts). Of course I stick my tongue out at the idea and he has to say... "I dare you." Well how can I refuse? It's amazing the things girls will do when a guy is cute. So Rach and I got a worm and he got one and started to count to 3, when we would all put it in our mouths at the same time. I popped mine in on count 1. It tasted like a watered down cheeto. The thought of what was in my mouth though, that was something else. Ugh! However, I survived and I think I am so brave!!! :)

So can I spiel about exercising? In my Physiology Lab we had a lab on exercising. High, moderate, and low intensity levels were measured (heart rate, respiration rate, and blood pressure). I was the moderate level. For 30 minutes straight, I walked up and down 5 flights of stairs. This was Thursday day. It is now Saturday night and my calves are still killing me!!! I can't walk up or down stairs very well... Actually, I can't walk well. Friday was the worst though. I looked like a duck the whole day. I waddled. With my feet apart to allow for a wide base of support. I did go running this afternoon though! Yay me! I didn't do so well on the treadmill :( I just couldn't run, so Sheree, my beautiful roommie who took me to work out, said "lets try the ellipticals!" So I, being frustrated at myself, figured I'd try it. I stayed on the thing for an hour! It was great!!! It was easy on my joints, it was easy on my calves, yet I could still feel the burn and the sweat and I burned tons of calories! YAY me!!! Happy day. Mary + Elliptical = Happy exercise :)

That's all. Man, I didn't expect to have this much to write. Usually I don't have much to say (hence, very few updates until recently). Much love to all!
