Yay! Surgery is Over!

Hello! Yes, I had surgery. Monday I went in to see the specialist who prodded my belly and said it was probably just a ruptured cyst (hence, the pain) and said I could spend the week on pain medications then come back to check in unless the pain got worse, in which case they would do surgery. I opted for the week on pain med's to get through it. 45 minutes later, I went back in such severe pain they sent me straight to the same-day surgery unit at the hospital where the nurses loaded me with pain medication. :) Yeah, it felt pretty good. That was at about 4 o'clock. At 8 o'clock, I was put under general anesthesia and taken into surgery finally. Oh yeah, Mark came to the hospital just before I went into surgery! Isn't that so sweet?! I have wonderful family. And a special thanks to my sister and my mom for helping me sooooo much on moday. I know I was a handful! haha they are both so good to me.
As it turns out, it was a very large cyst (NOT A TUMOR! YAY!) but it had wrapped around my ovary twice!!! Thus cutting off my blood supply to that ovary and causing me all that pain. The reason it looked like a tumor was because the cyst was actually full of blood clots. So the docs slit it open, suctioned everything out and irrigated it, then sewed me up and sent me away. Overall, it took about an hour. I have 3 tiny incisions on my stomach that they actually put one stitch in each and then superglued together! Cool, eh?!
So today I've been home recovering. I watched the new episode of "House" and House finally kissed Cuddy! Hooray! (We all knew it was coming, I didn't spoil anything) I'm gonna laugh to see what happens next... And... Jeffrey came by tonight after all my other wonderful visitors had left, that made me quite happy :) haha so thats all for now. All my love!

My state of Loopiness

So I'm pretty loopy for the moment. The doctors put me on Lortab until I go in for surgery sometime this week. My friend drove me to church and laughed at me the whole 3 hours cuz I kept zoning out and I guess at one point I started making a funny noise. Suprisingly enough, I took in most of what was being said!
Last night my sister did my make-up (she is fabulous at it! I feel so pretty every time she does) and I was able to go to a friends halloween party for a little while. It was really nice. The entire party ended up moving to my house cuz I had to take another Lortab (I'm on a 4 hour schedule for it) so that was great! I got to sit on my couch, in a state of loopiness, and socialize with some friends I haven't seen in awhile.
I'll keep everyone updated on my crazy schedule this week... Pray for me! The fact that I have to go have a tumor taken out makes me just a little nervous... Oh well. haha!

My life in a nutshell right now

Hello! So after much persistant bugging and nagging from my sister (whom I love), I have decided to blog. At the moment, I don't have anything better to do. I've been lying home on my back all day because I can't move. I spent six hours in the ER last night and after a CT scan and 2 ultrasounds, the doctors concluded that I have a tumor on my left ovary. It's not cancerous and really not even dangerous, but it has been causing some internal bleeding and thus has been extremely painful (hence, my trip to the ER). What's really funny is that I was in the ER 3 weeks earlier due to my peanut allergies.
So my tumor is called a teratoma tumor (means: grotesque). Basically, its a bunch of unorganized stem-cells that gather together and form into different body parts. So for all I know, I could have a hand or an eyeball or even teeth growing inside of me! Haha It's pretty crazy. They're going to have to surgically remove it but its a minor surgery done mostly with cameras and lasers. So the incision will be minor and recovery only takes one day (thank goodness, cuz I have classes I really need to go to!) So that's my life right now... A little crazy but it'll get better quick. And then maybe I'll have normal stuff to talk about...maybe. haha!
Till I write again!
